Checklist for new Fellows

Below you will find a checklist to prepare you for your Fellowship and for TED.

All Fellows give a 4 minute talk during the TED Fellows sessions. These presentations are meant to mirror traditional TED Talks on a smaller scale - we are not merely looking for an overview of your work (although sometimes that's appropriate), but more of an idea that you would like to share. If you want some inspiration - go to TED.com and check out other Fellows talks! Once you submit your first draft to us, then you must schedule a time for you to talk through this draft with the team. No matter where you are in the process -- we're here to help!

This is a private place for TED Fellows to communicate -- all TED Fellows from past and present classes are invited to join and interact with one another. This group is a safe space for Fellows to pitch ideas, ask for advice, or even offer a couch to a fellow Fellow. If you haven't already received an invite to join, please follow this link and click on the "Ask to join" button: https://www.facebook.com/groups/tedfellows/

Please send us as many high-resolution photos as you can of yourself + your work to patrick@ted.com.. At least one of them must be a clear headshot. Another one should be a shot of your work. These photos could be a shot of you "in action" or "in the field," or it could be a photo of the work itself. What we are looking for here is a photo that shows what you do -- you don't necessarily have to be in it. If you are having a hard time choosing this shot, please feel free to send a couple in, and we will choose for you. For all images, the higher resolution, the better! We really do prefer photos 2MB or larger. As a reminder, you must either own the rights to the photos you send us or have the permission to share them.

After your acceptance to the fellowship, you should have received a survey from Kathryn via email. Please follow the link and complete the survey by the date indicated. The information will be featured in our Fellows booklet in order for attendees to get to know you better, as well as on our online directory and in any press releases we do around the new class.

You should have received an email with your nugget title and bio. Please note, these are meant to be short and succinct. Please let us know if you strongly dislike them, they’re inaccurate, there are spelling errors, ect. Once you approve your bio, it will be sent to our editorial team for a quick fact check and final edit before it is releases to the general public.

To prepare you for the conference and to help you create your stage presentation, we have set up a series of helpful webinars from the pros in our community. RSVP for each webinar with Diana (dianaalmahmood@ted.com) and make sure to watch the recordings if you are not able to attend.
